Cat or Dog?
Sunday, August 6th, 2006Weakness
Saturday, August 5th, 2006So I just realized the reason that red/white/gray theme is weak is that it is so broken you can’t even leave comments. Dude needs to do some major work on that shit! So now I’m trying this one out. It’s kind of pretty.
Random Game
Saturday, August 5th, 2006I just came across this game written in flash where you basically shoot down stick figure men invading this house. Like many things on the web, it’s amazing how you can get sucked into such things. I recommend checking out, but read the instructions…well just know this: Spacebar = Reload
Putting Sheep to Sleep
Saturday, August 5th, 2006The BBC is hosting a fun little flash game that tests your reaction speed by putting sheep to sleep. That’s right, the tables have turned on those sheep! Now you get to shoot those bastards with a tranquilizer dart whenever they try to make a run for it. I managed to get an average of time .1894 seconds. That makes me a “rapid rabbit” or something like that.
This Would Make Me Cry
Thursday, August 3rd, 2006When I was little, my neighbor had a rubberband gun. I thought it was the coolest most awesome thing in the world. I was riding my bike around and thought it’d be an awesome idea if I rode around really fast and they tried to shoot me with the rubberband guns. I apparently thought that I could ride really fast and that they would have horrible aim because what happened was that I got shot in the face at somewhat close range and ended up crying.
If the neighbor kid had one of these, I probalby would have been smart enough to come up with that game. That or I would have thought I was dying.
Now This Is Just Stupid
Friday, July 28th, 2006Chat rooms could face expulsion | CNET News.com
Seriously, congressman need to get some people to explain to them that the internet isn’t a series of tubes and that pretty much every website has a “social” element to them these days.
This Is My Sandbox
Tuesday, July 18th, 2006and I intend to play, damn it!
I really haven’t been using this blog that well. I’m not just talking about the fact that I post mainly stupid crap or not at all. Actually maybe better put, I haven’t been using this domain as well. Most people (aka dorks) have a spare domain that they use to try out new tricks and mess around with code and stuff and I haven’t really been doing that with this.
With the various projects I’m trying to get going, however, I’m running into a few questions here and there and stuff I’d like to try out. So this is a warning. This site my break or look ugly at times, but that’s just part of the test.
I was planning on using this new theme on my in development project The Pitchfork Report, but it had some serious issues so I scrapped it. This is a perfect place to test out whether the new release of the theme fixes the bugs or not though so if you find anything weird, let me know.
But I Don’t Wanna Go!
Sunday, July 2nd, 2006To Blockbuster that is. You see, every Christmas season, I believe my relatives in Tennessee (not immediate family) go into a scramble trying to figure out what to get me. This usually leads to me getting shirts I can swim in or socks or occasionally, some cool stuff. My uncle always does very well, last year he got me a really slick Case pocket knife.
Anyway, a while ago I got a $10 Blockbuster gift card. I had been meaning to re-gift it actually, but I keep a messy desk and the thing always got misplaced. So now that I’m unpacking boxes at my new house – need to post about this later – I finally found the card again. Yaeka and I took a walk around town today and happened to pass a Blockbuster. I decided right now, at 2:25am to call the number on the back that is for balance inquiries. Well I call the number and it says, “For Terms and Conditions Press 1, for balance inquiries press please visit your nearest Blockbuster location.”
I understand that no one wants to go to your stupid stores any more and you need to come up with anyway for people to go, but give me a damn break! I just want to know my balance. Seriously, make the phone number work or put it up on the website or something. I only want to go if I have a balance left after all this time and that’s it. It’s really not a big deal since I’ll probably walk over in that area again, but it’s still really annoying. So annoying I had to blog about it. I think I’ll email them a complaint.
House Mix
Tuesday, May 30th, 2006I started writing this post about a month ago, way before I knew what house I was going to be moving into. Originally, “Suburban Home” was included just for the house reference because I was sure we were going to be living in Seattle proper, but now, living on the Eastside still, it seems even more appropriate.
Apologies to everyone out there that was eager to hear about my awesome set of techno music, but this post is about the house I will be buying with Yaeka.
The other day I was thinking about moving into a new house and the first thing I would do. Changing the toilet seats is definitely near the top (actually not anymore, the place we got has been completely remodeled), but the real winner is setting up the stereo and turning it up to a volume you just can’t do in a condo. So now the question is what is on that first set of music you play in a newly purchased house?
Here’s the list in progress (suggestions are definitely welcome in the comments):
- The Descendents – “Suburban Home”
- Blur – “Country House”
- Loretta Lynn – “This Old House”
- Benjamin Gibbard – “You Remind Me of Home”
This New Theme
Saturday, May 13th, 2006So obviously a week or two ago I changed the theme of this blog. Overall I think the theme, Blix, looks more lively than the standard default Wordpress theme, but there are a couple things I’ve noticed that are bugging me a little bit. The main one is that the link categories are not being used. They are all just mixed together under the single header “Links”. I’m going to try and take a look at some of the template code and get that back to the way I like it soon. We’ll see how long that actually ends up taking.
