Forbes.com just published this article regarding a study that Sleep Loss May Be Linked to Weight Gain. Looks like in addition to my cardio I need to get some sleep.
Is this really true?!
I didn’t read the article (yet), but when I’m sleep deprived, and I have been sleep deprived in my day…I eat less…drink more coffee…I don’t think I’ve gained weight per se. Is this what happens? Or am I adding too many extra factors? I guess if I stayed up and ate a lot, I’d gain weight…but….??? This is puzzling.
Well according the article, the lack of sleep affects the hormones that control appetite or something like that and in addition to being hungrier, the subjects of the study also craved fattier foods.
But if you ‘just say no’ at those moments…you’re gold. And maybe you then lose weight? or at least maintain? I’ll get back to you on this one.
