Well yesterday was the last day of my 5-day weekend. I took an extra day off due to a trip to the dentist for the second of my 2-hour long cleanings. After about a 10-year hiatus from going to the dentist, I’m back in it full steam. That second cleaning was actually my third visit in three months and I’m scheduled to go back again in January to get to super tiny cavities filled. I’m not really sure why I was so afraid of the dentist, I think a big part of it — other than the lack of dental insurance — was trying to avoid the whole wisdom teeth pulling. On my last trip I thought I had masterfully avoided it, but yesterday Dr. Van Der Hoeven informed me that there’s a chance I’ll have to get them pulled and that we’ll just have to monitor the situation month-by-month. All this talk about me going to the dentist though is because of this article I just found called Dirty Teeth Can Kill You.
Is that really your dentist’s name?!
I too went to the dentist over Thanksgiving…it had been 4 years since I’d gone. Dr. Cello (yes, this is his name) did a good job, and I only had a minor teeny cavity that didn’t require novacaine. So I’m back in business myself.
Sorry about the wisdom teeth situation. Mine were taken when I was 18.
Now Dr. Cello is a funny name especially since you play the cello. Dr. Van Der Hoeven is indeed my doctor’s real name. She’s actually one of Yaeka’s high school classmates’ mom.
