Have you checked out allmusic.com lately? They’ve finally given the site a long overdue facelift — I’m pretty sure the yellow look had been in place before I even started college in 1998. The new layout is nice in that it separates the information out in a more reasonable way. I always hated how in the old design you had to scroll all the way down and these tabs really help the functionality.
There’s also this registration thing going on now. I haven’t really figured out what addition things you get by registering, but I’m not really into that. Anyway, point is it’s about time this site got an update considering it is owned by the country’s largest onestop.
Yeah, I noticed the facelift. It was doubly unsettling. First, I was really thrown off by the new layout, how you had to access different tabs for discography, influences, etc. because it had always been just there. Then I realized how often I had used the site, often for hours at a time, for such a change to have a jarring effect.
There have been some very minor changes over the years, but the big makeover all of a sudden was a big shock. I miss the old site.
By the way Phill, have you heard the new Fiery Furnaces album yet?
I’ve heard some tracks from the new album on the radio and I think maybe some live last year, but the CD is on its way in the mail to me and I’m really excited.
I bought it last week and its really really great. What other stuff have you been listening to lately?
sorry. that last post was from me again.
